Josey,
I returned from Battle Field
Circulation yesterday to find a HUGE box from you guys. I have pictures
of the Soldiers practically wrestling
over the items you sent. As soon as I can email them from my phone to
myself I will forward them to you. Thanks so much for being so caring

are able to receive support from your organization. I would be able

pictures of grateful Soldiers and also the troops have stated they would
feel grateful if they were able to write personalized thank you notes.

Josey,
We spoke a long time ago when I was in Iraq and recall getting your
packages all the time. I just received another one and wanted to share
our appreciation for your support. I did as I did then too. I took the
box of treats and put it in the
middle of the company area. It was ransacked rather quickly. I got a
few treats just prior and almost lost a finger in the process. The box
is now gone. Our base is a bit more remote then I was before and a lot
of what you
sent, those items are hard to come by. We really appreciate all the
support of you and your donors.
I'm a true Christian and I believe that God has a plan for all of us.
We're glad you're a part of our plan here.
Respectfully,

You are very welcome! It
took a long time for me to complete the honors of our nations colors
in these specific places across Afghanistan! I personally flew these
colors at each destination and personally signed your certificate as
well. It is my honor to give to you something that is so close to my
heart and something I would give my life for - the symbol of our great
country!
My youngest son will be in Afghanistan in December with the 1st Ranger
Battalion out of Hunter Army Airfield (just outside of Fort Stewart).
I will send you the address if you would be so kind as to remember him
- this will be his first deployment so it will be especially important
to him.
I would appreciate it if you could send us one box for our redeployment
& reintegration operations to my address as follows (it is still
overseas):
Michael J. Uhlig
…
I would like to stay in touch with you all as well. I am trying to get
back into Afghanistan early summer timeframe so I am there before the
end of the fighting season - this has the potential to be the worst
winter periods of the campaign and it is especially important for us
(the USA) to have our leadership there that is experianced and willing
to get outside the wire to take it to the enemy. Thanks once again for
everything you've done to help us all and I only wish you treater that
piece of cloth as much as I do, hold it near and understand that it
means so much more than the piece of material that is sewn together
to make it so. Hooah, MJU.

Hello again!!!
I received the Valentine's
Day package! I forgot to tell you that my address change and the box
must have gotten lost in the mail because I just received it! My new
address is:
SPC Bacorn, Joseph
Delta Company …
My camera broke when we first
got here and I have a new one on the way! I wish I could have taken
some pictures because there was so much in that box and I took it to
the USO (United Service Organizations) and myself and many others enjoyed
the contents. I would have to say over 50 people got their hands on
the things you sent and they are very thankful to get something from
some one that cares so much! I am personally thankful for everything
you and the church does!! I still want the nice people to make those
cookies again those were some of the BEST cookies I have ever had. Thank
you again!!!

Josey,
Thank you for your kind words.
It is support like yours that makes this job
a heck of a lot easier.
To answer your questions: No we do not have any women in our unit.
It was my fault for not attaching a roster. I have included two
spreadsheets. The one that says HHB has all of the Soldiers at FOB Arian.
The one that says Alpha Battery has the Soldiers for FOB Warrior. We
just
got into country a few weeks ago and are scheduled to be here for around
9
months. I will let you know if that changes at all.
If you need anything else
from me, please let me know.
Thank you for your time.

To Whom it may concern,
My name is 1LT Miller. I
am the personnel officer for 3-6 FA, 1BCT, 10th
Mountain Division. 150 Soldiers of our unit are currently deployed to
Afghanistan. The two FOBs where we are located do not have some of the
luxuries that the larger FOBs do. We do not have a PX to buy items from.
We rely on packages sent from loved ones for tastes of home. I am sending
this email to request support for the Soldiers in 3-6. If this is possible,
I have enclosed our addresses below.
If there is any sort of roster
or help from me needed to facilitate
anything, please let me know.
Thank you for your time and
the things that you do for all Soldiers.

on such a small base, it really did help a lot with the morale here.

I wanted to send you an
update as to what is going on here. My
son will be departing in a few weeks so please do not send any
additional items to him as they are in the middle of consolidating and
moving equipment and weapons. I volunteered to stay a few extra months
and am here through July so I have a little time left. My youngest son
is in Ranger School and I believe his unit will be deploying here in
late spring (Rangers typically deploy for 3 months so his deployment
will be much shorter), I wanted to stay a little longer to be here while
he is deployed as well. To have an opportunity to go on a combat patrol
with your son is an experience that many will never have the opportunity
to experience and it gives a different perspective to the situation.
Can you please send me your
address. I want to send something
to you in appreciation for your thoughtfulness and support. I don't
know if you really understand how much your thoughtfulness motivates
the
guys here and really helps them to know there are some great Americans
back home that still give a shit about what we do every day. I will
be
traveling to the capital of Afghanistan and the main NATO Headquarters
for this mission and with me I will bring a set of American Colors that
I will fly at the Headquarters building. I want to send this set of
colors to you from me and my unit along with a certificate
authenticating the date and to commemorate the event. I know it is not
something glamorous but it is what I will fight and die for and it is
something very near to me and extremely important to me as the first
one
from my family born in the United States. I apologize for the lengthy
message - I normally do not write much! Thank you once again, Michael.

Hello ma'am,
I am happy to report that your care package had made it and that itwas
a big success. Thank you for that. Definitely helped the soldiers
and the mission at hand. The young men and women here are doing such
a great job and you have helped be a part of that so again, Thank you.
I
was going to ask if this is something that can keep going and if so
is there anything else I need to fill out or anything. I would be more
than
happy to do it. Thank you again for everything. Mike
